COLLECTION LIQUIDATION --

I am helping a magic friend sell most of his collection, (and I already had a ton of magic I was trying to get listed!) so I am putting his Collection items in this separate eBay store category, and I will probably not be saying too much about the items.  I will give a few good photos, and I will give a quick assessment of the item.

If you know your magic, you will recognize many items and know they are a great deal here. Or if you don't know the item, you may have to do a bit of online research to find out about it.  Or you can just trust my honest (though quick) assessment of any item -- I always endeavor to tell you the good and the bad of anything I sell.

Message me if you are seriously considering buying something , and want a bit more info on it.  Happy to help.

And keep checking the "COLLECTION LIQUIDATION" category of my ebay store, as I will be adding more items all the time!

I remember when these fake sponge rocks came out in the 1970's and so it seems an obvious leap for some magic dealer to make a sponge ball routine using rocks.  That said, I never saw this item back in the day, and have never seen anyone do the sponge balls with rocks.   My online research cannot turn up any info on this set, but the package envelope shows it is from the famous House of Magic in San Francisco, which was run by Buma Burger.

The envelope also says it came with four rocks, but there are seven here, so the previous owner must have bought and extra set at some point and combined them.   This set has SEVEN rocks.

These rocks are smaller than most of the phony rocks I have seen, which makes them suitable for doing most sponge call moves and routines.  They do not compress quite as much as regular sponge balls, but they do work for the basic sponge effects.    The rocks are all in great condition.

There is an instruction sheet for a basic sponge routine included.

Based on the package design, and the geological dating of the rocks, I estimate this neat collectible magic prop is from the mid-1970's.   The pre-printed price on the envelope also looks to be what this trick would have sold for about 50 years ago.   (I need to sell it for more due to decades of inflation!)

PLEASE READ CONDITION NOTES

CONDITION NOTES:   previously owned, but in very good condition, complete with all props, original package envelope, and three extra rocks. Instructions for basic sponge routine -- not sure if there were other instructions with this set when originally issued. If so, they are not here.
