OVERVIEW: Here’s a great 2005-ish 21-inch (or 53 / 54 cm) TREK 520 non-disc touring road bike, which came to me as a partial bike, and which I built up the other day and is fully tuned and ready to ride (I’ve been wrenching on bikes for more than 40 years, much of that time professionally). Frame is circa 2005-ish, painted black, made of double-butted chromoly steel, with long chainstays and braze-ones/eyelets for a rear rack, and has no dents or dings; fork is also chromoly steel, also with braze-ons/eyelets for front rack, with no dents/dings; headset is stock Cane Creek, and very smooth. Drivetrain is bombproof low-mileage Shimano 9x3 classic touring setup, including Deore long-cage rear derailleur, 105 front derailleur and Dura-Ace bar-end shifters (right/rear shifter can shift in index or friction mode, left/front shifter is friction only). Crankset is new zero-mile SRAM 104bcd crank spider, with new zero-mile Shimano Deore 9sp 48-36-26 chainrings, and new zero-mile Shimano square-taper BB. Wheels consist of new zero-mile MAVIC A119 700c rear eyeletted touring rim laced to Shimano Deore hub, and low-mileage TREK Matrix ‘Titan-Tour’ eyeletted front rim laced to freshly overhauled (by me) Shimano Deore LX front hub; tires are new zero-mile Specialized Sawtooth 700x38c touring clincher tires, mounted atop new tubes. Cassette is like-new SRAM 11-32. Chain is new KMC 9sp chain, and all cables/housing are new as well. Brakes are stock Avid v-brakes with newish pads, and brake levers are new zero-mile Tektro v-brake drop levers. Bars (which are newly wrapped with new black cork tape) are stock Bontrager 42cm bars; 100mm high-rise stem is also stock Bontrager, and saddle is new zero-mile Bontrager ‘Commuter’ model; seatpost is Bontrager 27.2 and came with the bike. (No pedals are mounted, obviously, but I could include some platforms for free if you’d like.)

MEASUREMENTS: Frame measures 21-inches from center of BB to top of seat-tube, which is commonly called simply a MEDIUM frame (also, since 21 inches equals roughly 53.5cm, you could accurately call this bike either a 53cm or a 54cm). Top-tube measures about 21.5 inches from center-2-center. Standover is just over 30.5 inches with the current 38c tires mounted.

PRICE/SHIPPING: But It Now price is $549. Shipping to anywhere in Lower 48 United States is $149 (sorry, NO shipping to Alaska or Hawaii; also, NO shipping to PO Boxes) — but if you live near the Seattle Metro area, you can instead pick up for FREE at my home in the Redmond WA area, which is about a half hour drive due east of downtown Seattle.
