Brown Aesthetic Transferware Butter Pat

WILD ROSE LOVE TOKEN

Wallace Gimson Staffordshire England 1890

This is a stunning butter pat or butter dish. Originally part of a complete dinner service, the octagonal dish measures 2-7/8 inches in diameter. The color is a rich and exotic sepia brown.

The dish is decorated with a stylized wild rose within a geometric border, a gorgeous love token and delightful tribute to the Victorian love of nature and the exotic. The pattern name is Wild Rose, maker is Wallace Gimson.  The piece is marked LS&S, the backstampf of the London retailer Lewis Strauss & Son. Made in late nineteenth in the Staffordshire district of England.

The dish is in great condition, with no chips, cracks, repairs. Printed off center when made. Sold as is, as shown. This great little dish is one of the best butter pats we've had. It will make a stunning addition to any Aesthetic transferware or butter pat collection.
