This simple 5-string model consists of ash body, maple neck/rose fingerboard, original pickups & preamp. The selector switch linked to the pickups and dummy coils allows you to select series, tap, or parallel. When tapped, it is connected to the dummy coil and gives a noiseless tapped sound. There are some signs of use, such as additional pickup fences, large paint chips at the joint, dents and scratches, buckle scratches on the joint plate, and black stains on the neck grip, but the neck condition remains in good condition. The frets are not so worn and the truss rod is still intact, so it is in good playing condition.

The Stingray 5 is a highly acclaimed 5-string bass and is considered a masterpiece. The 3-band EQ control in the hand is smooth and effective. The sound is well-balanced, with a fat bottom and crisp high end. The sound responds well to strong attacks, and the output has a solid core sound without collapsing.
