An interesting item of Hotel memorabilia being a 50th anniversary (1927-1977) reprint of the original May Fair Hotel Book, first published upon the opening of the Mayfair Hotel in 1927.
Opened in 1927, The May Fair, in London, was the first new hotel to open in the British capital in over 20 years. Inaugurated by King George V and Queen Mary, the hotel quickly became a playground for London's high society, Waugh's 'Bright young things or his 'Vile Bodies' - you choose. During the London 'Blitz' it was never hit by bombs.
Condition: A second-hand book, read and shelved. There are some light pencil marks on the frontispiece and a three centimetre tear on page 67. Otherwise this scarce book is in excellent used/read shelved condition, the colour pages retaining their original vibrancy. The pictures refer.
