A genuine original copy of Volume III of Antoine Goudin's important work issued in 4 volumes from 1671. This example is VOLUME III ONLY, published in 1693.

With a number of fold-out plates depicting the Moon and Saturn in some detail. Also a world map with fascinating detail that includes California depicted as an island, and also a very sketchy reference to Australia (here Nova Hollandia).

Antoine Goudin (c.1639 - 1695) was a Dominican philosopher and theologian. His Philosophia is his most important work. This volume covers areas that include Astronomy, Geography and Optics. Bound in full leather with gilt decoration on the spine. In a good original condition.

Condition: In a good original condition. Front hinge split, but all holding well. Text in a good, clean condition. Fold-out plates with small tears where they join the textblock, but generally in a good condition. A good copy. Please study the photographs.
