Up for auction is for a GORGEOUS 7 PIECE SET OF BOHEMIAN/CZECHOSLOVAKIAN HAND PAINTED ENAMELED FLOWERS WITH GOLD OVERLAY SCROLLING ON HAND BLOWN AMETHYST GLASS CONSISTING OF 6 MATCHING TUMBLERS AND 1 MATCHING STOPPERED DECANTER. This Decanter Set definitely comes from a bye-gone era when Bohemian/Czechoslovakian manufacturing was an "art", as can be seen from the gorgeously hand enameled designed flowers and gold overlay scrolling pattern. Although this set was pre-owned, the glass pitcher as well as all 6 tumblers are in absolutely wonderful condition, which is amazing for its age. It was purchased from a very old estate sale on Long Island. I found the set sitting on the top shelf inside a closed dining room cabinet, where it seemed to have sat there for all of these many years and was never used, and because there are absolutely no scratches anywhere on the Pitcher or the 6 matching tumblers that I can see, and especially no scratches on their bottoms, where scratches would normally be expected to be found. The enameling on each flower is perfect and all of the gold scrolling overlay too with one tiny exception: there is a very small amount of gold overlays missing from the top of the stopper, as shown in the 16th photograph. The grounded stopper itself is 4 inches long and 1 1/2 Inches widest at its top. The decanter is 12 inches tall with the stopper, and 9 inches tall without the stopper. It sits on a round base of about 2 inches across, has a top opening of about 1 5/8 inches across, and the bulbous (widest) part of the pitcher is about 3 inches wide. Each of the 6 tumblers measures 2 1/2 inches tall, and sits on a 1 1/8 inch round base, and has a 1 3/4 inch top opening. I just can't believe how "perfect" this set is considering its age. I have been collecting unusual vintage objects for many years, and always try to describe the items as best as I can. Except for that tiny missing gold from the top of the stopper, I don't see any chips, fleabites, cracks, scratches, stains, cloudiness, or repairs anywhere on this water set, which is amazing for its age. It comes from a smoke-free home. I only accept PayPal, and never charge extra for packaging and handling.
