The whimsical Balloon Rabbit (Violet) by Jeff Koons is a scaled down sculpture of the monumental Balloon Rabbit that was produced in five unique color versions between 2005 and 2010. The present work is made of porcelain with a violet chromatic coating. Koons' artistry with this sculpture lies in his ability to illusionistically render a hard material into a malleable-looking inflated balloon, thereby playing with perceptions of the real and the imagined.
