One brass US plate, one 1864 Indian head penny and one 65 Caliber three ring mini ball. All were recovered from a farm field alongside of Fort Ridgely near Fairfax MN. All of these relics were recovered by me on 09-19-2014. The U.S. Plate is from a leather horse or mule blinder. It is 1 ¼-inch diameter with three mounting prongs on the back. The coin has environmental damage and is in pore condition but dates to a time just after the Battle and when the soldiers still occupied the Fort. The bullet has been fired and has impact damage. Very nice group that together make a nice display. All recovered from private land with the full permission on the landowner.
