Detailed 1/72 scale assembly model kit of the Saab 35 Draken ("kite" or "dragon"), a Cold War era supersonic jet-fighter aircraft developed by Sweden. Introduced in 1960, the Saab 35 Draken was designed to take on the fighter-interceptor role, as well as other air-combat roles unique to Sweden. The Saab 35 Draken features a revolutionary double-delta wing design, which gave the Saab 35 its unique shape. Although intended for high-speed interceptor role, the Saab 35 Draken proved to be a capable fighter with good instantaneous turn capability. Saab 35 Draken fighters were retired from frontline service by the Swedish Air Force, and it has been replaced by the highly advanced Saab JAS 39 Gripen.
