Eckfeldt & Ackley, a company in operation from 1896 to close in mid-late 1930's in Newark, New Jersey. Known for producing high quality and beautifully defined pieces, they produced jewelry for prestigious retailers, such as Tiffany & Company. This is a special and high quality!  Eckfeldt Ackley VTG Retro 1930's MOD Two Tone 14k Gold Circle Bow wreath Pin Brooch 1 1/2 inches. They made jewelry for Tiffany & Co. & sometimes Tiffany's scratched in Tiffany and sometimes not. (Tiffany's brought other jewelry during the Depression and WWII.) This RARE brooch could been made for Tiffany’s and bought there in the 1930’s. Like all great designers, Tiffany's was 10-20 year ahead of it's time, so if it was sold by Tiffany's in the 1930's, naturally, these circle wreaths would become widely popular in the 1950's. It is a rare piece, I have only seen 2 of these. This pin is in excellent Estate condition and would provide decades of distinguished wear. The handmade safety clasp is secure and there are no dents or breaks, it is marked 14K, but the mark is quite worn. At the top of the clasp is the maker's mark in the form of an acorn for Eckfeldt & Ackley. It is both yellow and rose gold. See photo 2 for the best show of the 2 tones. The yellow gold is the outer circle and the rose gold is the bow and inner circle.
