Nice vintage Remington Noiseless Model 7 portable typewriter in the original case. Black with pretty chrome trim that's in good condition. I tested it with a new ribbon but I don't think I installed it correctly. All keys seemed to strike just fine but some of the black typing has some red in it -- again probably the ribbon. The bell does ring, but it has a very subdued sound. The knobs and levers seem to work fine to me, but please keep in mind that I don't know much about old typewriters or the proper way to test them. I'm not even sure how all the mechanisms are supposed to work. Typewriter looks nice, with mostly minor wear and dust inside and out, and there's some chipping to the black finish just above "Model Seven" -- otherwise I don't see any appearance issues. Inside it does look dusty and I see a little minor surface rust. The black case is in fair condition with some dust and mostly minor expected wear but a few spots of heavier edge wear and wear to the top layer exposing the wood beneath and it looks like something dripped down the back of the lid -- I didn't try to clean it. Smells a bit musty but the typewriter seems securely attached inside the case, but the hinges are off a bit.
