This Mercedes 814 7500kg horsebox is reliable and in good working order. MOT til 29/2/2025. Low mileage for age at 153,340 kms ( 95,000 miles). It has 2 herringbone partitions, back ramp, and cut through cab. It has a spacious living area, tack locker underneath side skirts and Luton sleeping area. The tilt cab makes for easy maintenance and access. The floor is solid and the ramp was replaced a couple of years ago. The horsebox has a registration year of 1990 and is stalled for two large horses or three ponies. It’s a tall lorry with good headroom and lots of space for large horses with no tack locker impinging on the inside of the horses area. I travelled 2 large warmbloods (17.2hh) in it but it would take 3 smaller ones. partitions are moveable to fit different size horses. Payload is 1550kg ish, from memory. 

Quality Mercedes OM366 engine, 140BHP. So reliable - Starts first time, every time. Battery isolator fitted. Drives well. 5 speed gearbox. Good cruising speed and mpg. Massive fuel tank. 

Alloy Tristar body. Coach built in 1997-1998.

Some minor surface rust on chassis but I am told by my mechanics that it is solid.

The roof needs to be resealed along the joints every few years as it can leak a little if left too long

New tyres on front. Tyres on back are still very serviceable but will need replacing at some point as they are starting to crack a little. 

I have owned it for 10 years and it only had one previous keeper since 1998. Only reason I am selling is that I no longer use it and I don’t want it to go to waste. It may be old but it is really is reliable and I am not aware of any issues with it.
