1837 LIBERTY SEATED SILVER HALF DIME - UNC*

No Stars, Large Date

(Curl Top 1)

V-1a (RPD)

TOP 100 !

1837 was the only Philadelphia issue of the Seated dime series without stars or a legend on the obverse periphery.

Obverse 1.2 die crack at cap...after the V-1 coins were struck, the obverse die was lapped to remove the repunched digits, as they are not visible on the obverse of the V-1a.

Reverse A.2 – The reverse die pit left of E3 (of AMERICA) creates a moderately large raised bump on the leaf tip. The crack from the top of A3 (second A in AMERICA) to the dentils is a confirming marker.

This uncirculated, Top 100 variety, has nice light golden-champagne toning.
