This is a stunning Opal Carnival Glass stippled heart toothpick or ring holder.
The glass is clear with an opaque quality and a medium carnival finish that radiates a warm rainbow of spring colors.
It has small areas with a little uranium in the glass - similar to vaseline. Those little areas turn dull neon under a black light.
It is in the lovely Stippled Heart pattern that is quite ornate.
The pattern is repeated on both sides. It has a heart in stippled glass that is outlined by tiny beads. Additional tiny beads run up the 2 sides. There are 2 tab style handles on each side. It has a short pedestal base and wide decorative foot.
Stands appx 2-5/8" tall with the actual hold just 2".
It may have been originally used as a match holder, with the stippled glass for a match strike.
Perfect to hold rings and small jewelry items or even paper clips on your desk.
Has a shallow straw mark on one side that was done in the making and is under the carnival finish.
New/old stock and in excellent condition.
An excellent example of hand made pressed glass.
Has the Boyd Art Glass mark - B inside a diamond with lines around it.
