[Description]
This product is a pair of Altec 128A professional mono vacuum tube power amplifiers,
announced by Altec in the 1960s, during the golden age of analog audio.
The Altec 128A is a 30-watt power amplifier of excellent quality,
primarily used in professional settings such as recording studios,
broadcast stations, and television studios during its time.
This meticulously crafted amplifier utilizes high-quality Class AB circuits and
incorporates a tube test meter into its circuitry. It also features a 20-step click-
rotary knob for precise and incremental gain control.
With a frequency response of ±1dB from 5 to 50,000Hz and less than 0.5% total harmonic distortion
in the range of 30 to 20,000Hz at 15 watts output, this amplifier delivers exceptional performance.
At full 30 watts output, the total harmonic distortion remains below 2% within the same frequency range.
As supplied the amplifier has an input impedance of 100,000 ohms.
An accessory plug-in transformer will provide source impedances of 125/150 and 500/600 ohms.
A wide variety of output impedances including the popular 70 v line are provided.
Designed for rack mounting (occupying 5 units), it allows easy access to components via a
hinged front panel. With the front panel open, all circuits are accessible for maintenance
without the need to remove the amplifier from the rack.

a Standard 12U type rack known for its reliability and track record.
