A 2010 LG-2 3/4 ARLO GUTHRIE is now in stock. It has been over 10 years since it was new, so it has some superficial signs of use, such as scratches and scuffs from normal use, but it is in excellent condition for its age.
The LG-2 3/4 is a 3/4 size compact guitar that was produced from 1949, and was released in the early 2000's as a set with “Woody Guthrie's” SOUTHERN JUMBO and “Arlo Guthrie's” LG-2 3/4.
WOODY GUTHRIE's SJ was sold individually when it was first released, but ARLO GUTHRIE's LG-2 3/4 was not sold individually, and the only way to obtain it was to purchase it as a set. Since then, it has been produced several times in the Custom Shop.
Body top is selected spruce, side back is mahogany, mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard, rosewood bridge, body size: width: 12 3/4“ (323mm), nut width: 1.575 (40mm), scale: 22 3/4” (577mm) short Scale: 22 3/4” (577mm). Simple ladder bracing is used.
There are some minor scratches and chips on the back of the bridge on the top. There are also a few scratches on the sides of the body. The back of the body has scratches from belt buckles and buttons on clothes. The neck back and fingerboard surfaces are clean. There are some scratches on the head top, and the wood is partially showing. There is also a scratch on the side of the head from a string winder. All of these are minor and not of much concern for practical use.
The strings have been well tuned, with the string height set at 2.5mm for the 6th string and 1.7mm for the 1st string at the 12th fret, making it easy to play. There is plenty of fret board and saddle space left. The sound is responsive, and when played with fingerpicking, the sound is more solid than its size, and it sounds good through the strings. When played with strokes, the sound is crisp and pleasant.
Lightweight and easy to handle, it is a good size for playing blues or storytelling in the living room while having a drink.
