For sale is this very scarce vintage promo/sampler cassette: SURVIVAL SAMPLER: SR-1A SOUND RATIONS on Warner Bros. Records 1984. This legendary tape was issued by Warner Bros. in the U.S. to promote their roster of British Indie and Alternative talent including THE CURE, THE SMITHS and DEPECHE MODE. This remarkable cassette was originally issued not in a jewel case but in a regular food can labelled to appear like army rations. It came with a paper pull-out with sleeve notes in the form of survival instructions. You had to open the can with the ring pull to access the cassette.

**PLEASE NOTE: THIS SALE INCLUDES THE ORIGINAL CASSETTE AND PAPER INSERT - THE CAN IS BELIEVED TO BE A REPLACEMENT AND NOT ORIGINAL.**

Condition: The cassette and paper insert are both graded VG+ with some signs of handling. The tape has been tested and plays well - a great copy of this very hard to find 80s Indie cassette. The tin can is not believed to be original. For what it's worth: It is open at the base with the ring-pull in tact at the top. It has some dents, rust/corrosion and other signs of age. The base is closed up with what seems to be the plastic top from a can of coffee.
