Large Bulgarian metal table plaque/ medal depicting the building of the mausoleum of Georgi Dimitrov on the obverse and the inscription on the back: "Mausoleum of Georgi Dimitrov" with dimensions 60 mm ( 2 3/8") x 60 mm ( 2 3/8").

Georgi Dimitrov was born in 1882 in the village of Kovachevtsi Bulgaria.In 1933 he was among those accused of setting the Reichstag on fire in the Leipzig trial, organized by the imposed National Socialist regime in Germany, but with his energetic speeches during the trial he became one of the most popular figures in the world communist movement and was acquitted.

  Leader of the Bulgarian Communist Party (BCP) and chairman of the Comintern, he headed the emerging totalitarian regime in the country, and from 1946 he was prime minister of Bulgaria until 1949, when he died.

His body was embalmed and laid in a mausoleum built in 1949 for a record six days in his honor, which was destroyed in 1999 by the government of Democracy.
