SEALED IN PLEXIGLASS FRAME. IT WAS HUNG IN A ROOM AGAINST A WINDOW WITH SUN SHINING THOUGH. HAND PAINTED. EACH IS 10 3/16" LONG, 2 5/8 TALL.  PLEXI FRAME IS 21" WIDE X 14" TALL X 1/2" THICK. This lot of 10 antique handpainted Magic Lantern Slides showcases early British festivals, a lighthouse, and more. The slides are made of glass and wood and were originally produced in the 1840s. The colorful images depict England during a time before photography, providing a unique glimpse into history. Top left 3 colonials chasing a dog that has a meat cleaver tied to its tail. The leading man has a trifold hat. Top right; Colonial plump aristocrat, watching 3 persons drinking, dancing. 2nd row left; 3 ships a sailing with flags. 2nd row right; Our betters, men with flags dance, 1 woman and a whimsical coat of arms. 3rd row left; a fellow running off with a pillar and 3 fellows with canes or ? chasing him. 3rd row right: 3 knights on horses, a horse attendant, and one man following with flag. 4th row left; 4 horses. First one stately looking, 2nd, looking back mean face, 3rd muscular, 4th looks loose and lazy. 4th row right; lightning storm near shore. 4 ships riding the storm in waves. Light house guides them. 5th row left; Tug of war? dog in front, appears to be colonials chasing him, each one holds the waist of the one in front pulling. The 6th man has fallen and the 7th man stands proud watching. 5th row right: Two Indian types chase after two men of wealth. Money bag drops.
