VINTAGE BISQUE NANCY ANN STORYBOOK DOLL 

Jointed Painted Eyes 3 1/2" INFANT BABY

A very cute 1940's all bisque infant with painted eyes and her arms & legs are string jointed.  Her hair is painted a light reddish brown.  This doll is incised on the back " STORY BOOK DOLL U.S.A. " and there might be a 1 underneath U.S.A.  The incredible thing about this doll is that the paint is just about perfect!  I see none missing anywhere that would be visible and there are no chips or cracks.  Only at the joints did I find any paint missing from rubbing and her left leg also has a bumpiness to the rim (but there is no paint loss where the bumpiness is, so I would say it was a manufacturing flaw).  The stringing is still very good.  Her dress is a little too big for her but could be taken-in a little in the back (I have a straight pin in it for now, but it still looks lovely on her).  The diaper or pants (they just slip on) looks like a handmade piece of clothing (and not very well done).  This Nancy Ann Story Book Doll is almost perfect, and she displays beautifully!  She will make a wonderful addition to any collection.
