Vintage 1930s / 40s Black Lace And Sheer Georgette Party Dress Size Small

What Is Georgette?

Georgette is a type of crêpe fabric that is typically made from pure silk but can also be made from synthetic fibers like rayon, viscose, and polyester. French dressmaker Georgette de la Plante introduced the eponymous silk fabric in the early twentieth century.

The silk fabric is sheer and lightweight and has a dull, matte finish.

AS IS vintage condition. This dress has issues. There are multiple small tears in the lace (tiny), very difficult to photograph but I did try, as well as at least 5 tears in the skirt which I also tried to photograph. This is repairable but it will take time and effort. The lace is extremely delicate, but the lining is in wonderful condition

Please note items are between 40-150 years old

Photographed an indirect natural light, which can caus a shadow towards the bottom of the dresses. I always combine shipping for multiple items purchased on platforms that do not automatically combine the shipping and refund the difference back to my customers.

Please Note- all items sold are vintage finds sourced from estate sales and thrift stores in the Hollywood area of Southern California.

As they are vintage items it is always a good plan to plan to have the items taken to your local green dry cleaner before wearing.

Some items may be wrinkled from storage. To de-wrinkle combine distilled water and 2 cap fulls of fabric softener in a spray bottle. Hang garment (preferably outdoors) and spray

I do my best to catalog any flaws I find in the description of the item.

Your purchase helps me continue to fund my artistic work as a photographer in Hollywood California. It also helps me to feed my increasingly finicky cat who now only wants the most expensive cat food
