This auction is for an extremely rare variant of the 1966 Millie the Model Marvel Mini-Book sold in gumball machines in 1966.
About Marvel Mini-Books: These comics are official Marvel-licensed comics published by CHP and are distinguished as being the smallest comics ever published, about the height of a dime. The series was sold in gumball machines and were dispensed in small capsules. Six characters were featured in this series, and each was published in six different colors, but on very rare occasions one of these "7th variant" books will turn up for sale, and this variant color exists for all six characters in this series. Mini-Books are the first Marvel variant comics ever published.
About this variant: While this series is known for having six standard variants that feature covers with solid colors, this variant is often referred to as "the speckled variant" or the "1 in a 1000 variant" or the "7th variant." And it should be noted that the company, CHP, that manufactured these books published dozens of other Mini-Books that featured non-Marvel content, and these rare color variations occur in those titles as well, so this "7th variant" is not a fluke or accidental production flaw but an actual intentional cover design that, for some unknown reason, is extremely rare, making it far and away the rarest Millie comic book ever published. Regarding this Millie variant, fewer than five have ever turned up for sale. They have passed through Lone Star Comics at times and can be seen on their website, and others have turned up here on eBay.
Condition: Mini Book is unread with no creases, no spine splits, no writing. This, like all Mini-Books, has a red mark on the side. 9.4 near mint. See scans.
