We are pleased to offer as a set this absolutely magnificent William IV dining room suite.  The set comprises a large, extensible, plum mahogany table, circa 1835.  A fabulous mahogany sideboard of the same era and 10 mahogany dining chairs that, though they are of the Regency era fit wonderfullly in with the rest of the set.

The Table:

The table comprises two end sections and a center section.  The rectangular top has rounded corners and moulded edge.  It sits on raised and carved bracketed legs ending in brass cap casters, and a center pedestal.  The center section is very rare plum mahogany.  The side pieces mahogany.  It comes with two additional leaves also in mahogany.

The table without the extensions is 8' 6" in length.  With them the length increases to 12' 6".  It is an impressive 57" wide which allows you to comfortably sit two people at each end.  Without extensions it easily sits 10-12 people altogether.  With them perhaps 16-18 people.

We had the table professionally polished when we purchased it from Doyles in New York 10 years ago.  It came from the shop of Charlotte Moss a well known New York antique dealer and interior decorator (regularly featured in Home & Garden and other design magazines).

We have the table paired it with a William IV mahogany sideboard we purchased from an Atlanta dealer  and 10 matching Regency period chairs we had reupholstered.

The Sideboard:

Absolutely magnificent William IV sideboard.  Circa 1835.  The sideboard is comprised of two side cabinets and a top shelf with locking drawer that come apart for transport.  According to the antique dealer in Atlanta from whom we purchased it the mahogany is from the Caribbean  (stands there were wiped out in 19th century, being used for masts and furniture in Britain).

The sideboard is 80 inches wide and 26 1/2 inches deep.  The top is a single piece of timber (which makes one marvel at the size of the tree from which it was sourced).  It stands 37" high from floor to top and the peak of the back is 16 1/2 inches above the shelf.  The two side cupboards have a single shelf each.  Withe the locking drawer they offer quite substantial amount of storage.

We were told the table has been recently professionally polished when we purchased it from an antique dealer in Charlotte 10 years ago.

The Chairs:

As you can imagine it is not easy to get a large number of matching William IV dining chairs.  While we waited for such an opportunity we purchased this very rare and beautiful set of ten matching Regency Chairs.  Circa 1810-18-20.  When we purchased the chairs we had them professionally restored and reupholstered.

The chairs work wonderfully with the table and together with the sideboard the dining room suite has exactly the ambiance you hope for when having guests for a formal dinner.

We are stating local pickup only (they are in North Carolina).  However, we will work with any purchaser and carrier of their choice to pick up and transport at their expense.
