Vintage 1970s slinky knit dress in a dark burgundy wine knit with a slight metallic sheen features a long flowing ruffle in the front and ruffled-edge hems on the cap sleeves and hem. V-neckline gathered at the center of the bustline to feature every curve. The knit fabric is a thicker, higher quality vintage polyester that flows beautifully on the body with a hint of stretch.
The dress is unbranded and unlabelled for size but it runs small and is probably a junior's size 5-7.
Measures 15" from armpit to armpit laid flat to accommodate bust size to 30, but is generously cut and could stretch to fit a bit larger bust.
From shoulder to hem measures 55".
Back from shoulder seam to shoulder seam measures 13".
Dress is in excellent condition - I am the original owner and purchased it in the New York City area for prom in 1973 but never wore it. Kept it all this time because the style is so timeless and the fabric was so beautiful (and I kept hoping I would fit into it!)
