Vintage West German Vase / Jug by Sawa Keramik. ESR. Sgraffito Style. Retro.

Striking vase / jug/ewer  by Sawa Keramik in the Westerwald region of West Germany/ Germany. It is conjectured that the initials ESR on its , still present, label stands for Eduard Schwaderlapp Ransbach. The information available for many German ceramic producers is sparse. This is a gorgeous piece with geometric patterns inscribed, sgraffito style, into it's dark brown exterior to reveal a cream layer underneath. The vase is in very good condition and still retains its manufacturing/ retail stickers. The only real flaw is a small indentation near the handle ( see picture 11). The piece is approximately 26.5 cm tall and it's  circumference is approximately 27.5 cm ( at it's widest point) . It weighs 305 grams. I have included a picture of the piece next to a matchbox to give you a sense of scale. Please examine the photographs carefully as they are a large part of the description. I am happy to combine postage and happy to post internationally. I am currently moving regularly between Wollongong NSW and Leppington NSW- I am happy to organise free pick up from either location given a few days notice.
