1968 Chevrolet Camaro Hardtop

For consignment, a 1968 Chevrolet Camaro that retains those 1968 identifiers but is modified as a ProStreet car.  Heavily built and housing 572ci under a steel hood.  We've said it before, you can start building that shell you have in the backyard, or you can skip a few years of work and buy a purpose built street/strip car and have your project with the turn of a key.

Exterior
I'm not sure what crop this represents, but paint called Hawaiian Orchard covers this car in a deep purple tone.  A white SS stripe rolls over the nose like a ribbon and then turns towards that back where it ends as a spear.  Requisite items for a speed demon include the cowl induction hood and rear spoiler, while massive exhaust exits under the door jamb like two XL pipelines, only these are wide open.  15-inch Weld Prostars are the wheels on hand and the tubbed rear wears massive 33x21.5x15 tires.  Talk about a footprint!  The car is adorned with SS badges including on the gas cap as well as the grille.  The paint, chrome, and metal work are show worthy with the exception of a small ding and one small imperfection in the paint being the only demerit and it's not even obvious.

Interior
Black vinyl door cards are enhanced with an abstract shaped purple filler panel.  Climb over the color keyed S&W 10 point roll cage into a pair of racing seats with 5 point racing harnesses.  An ergonomic steering wheel leads to a rather stock looking gauge package, circa 1968.  Turn to the right and you find a large AutoMeter tachometer and in the center stack, water temp and oil pressure gauges.  In the center console, a floor mounted Hurst pistol grip quarter stick shifter in a pedestrian faux wood panel.  Black loop style carpet covers the floor and the charcoal headliner and sun visors are in good condition.  In the trunk, a fuel cell and battery box.

Drivetrain
Get comfortable, this might take a few minutes to read.  The Merlin III 572ci V8 has some impressive components and stats including an Eagle crankshaft with a 4.375 stroke, Eagle H-beam rods, JE 4.560" pistons, a Comp Cams roller #11-825-9 cam, Comp roller lifters, and a MSD digital 7 ignition with a Pro Billet distributor.  The heads are Brodix BB2 EXTRA heads with Crane stud girdles.  A Holley 1150cfm Dominator 4-barrel carburetor sits on a Brodix HV-2001 intake.  The TH400 transmission houses a B&M Nitrous holeshot converter.  To handle the power, the rear consists of a Ford 9" rear with 4.86 gears and Moser 38 spline axles, a Moser nodular iron center section, and a Detroit locker.  Hedman Hustler headers start the exhaust on a short route.  The engine bay is clean and the monster engine is visually enhanced with some polished components in the bay.  Otherwise, it's all business.

Undercarriage
The undercarriage is spotless, but with a car like this, you're gonna wanna know what's under there.  So, pour another drink and read on.  The suspension consists of front QA1 coil over shocks, rear Chassis Engineering double adjustable ladder bars, and rear Chassis Engineering double adjustable coil overs.  Front power disc brakes include GM single piston front calipers, while the power rears include Wilwood discs.  The exhaust comes off the headers into a pair of FlowMaster mufflers, then out for the general public within a 10 mile radius to hear.

Drive-Ability
A quarter mile is really all we need to test the functionality of the car, but we'll take a bit longer than say 8 seconds to do so.  It's loud, it's fast and it's everything a ProStreeter is supposed to be.  All gauges, lights, and the throttle all work very well.

The ProStreet community is large but it's still a small world where a lot of individuals know each other and their cars.  This is a turnkey opportunity to join that community or augment your "membership" with one badass car.  This one is not for your teenage son or daughter.  This is a serious hobby car for the discerning street/strip enthusiast.
