SONY released a few players that made history for being one of the most advanced players at the time, thanks to the combination of a very small size, advanced electronics and feather touch buttons, high quality sound thanks to the EX Amorphous head, the brand new Mega Bass System (2x bass expansion) ALSO CALLED EX DBB, and other cool features.
FIRST-EVER “X-PRESS” BODY:
The WM-EX655 was a special edition model released in 1997 featuring a first-ever pure pressed anti-deformation Magnesium + aluminum composite with a stunning embossed Rhomboid 3-D - also called the X-pattern.
Boasting a planar surface strength of 2.8 times compared to previous models, body strength is obviously the least conspicuous factor featured by this beautiful device.

COSMETIC CONDITION:
BEAUTIFULLY KEPT! 100% blemish free. This is a unit that was part of my collectibles, therefore only used a couple of times and properly stored as the precious item it is.
It has been kept in a temperature-controlled storage since the late 90s.
- All the IC logic controls maintain their original look, function and feather touch attributes.
- All the anagogic controls are in top-shape.
- The closing mechanism is in excellent shape.
- The tape transport area is spotless and the head shines as when new (pristine).
- The battery compartment is in great shape (100% functional), plus the battery lid closes firmly.

A PASSION FOR RETRO-TECHNOLOGY:
In a market where no one takes the time and care that these technological marvels deserve, I invest some time running basic tests in order to assure that the units comply at least with basic functioning parameters so they are easily serviceable.
WORKING CONDITION:
All controls are mechanically functional, however there seems to be an issue with powering up the device.
Summary: This nice unit is best for a collector, exhibitions, or to enjoy amazing sound reproduction on a Walkman with stunning stylish attributes. It requires some repairs or can be purchased as a collection item or exhibition - given its great cosmetic status.
