Two of the most attractive and popular transistor radios
are the Toshiba 'Lace-Grill' Toshiba radios 5TR-193 in
blue lace-grill and in red lace-grill
Popular for the girls and ladies, but a boys' and gentlemen's
version was needed, thus, the "Mesh-Grill 5TR-193".
Identical to the lace-grill models, but with a bit less feminine grill.
Lacking such a striking appearance, the male version enjoyed
lower sales and is less numerous in extant specimens, making
it today, just as sought after as its lacy sisters.
CONDITION: Two chips (one top, one bottom) are re-glued in place, so no portions are missing. and except for very slight unevenness in the grill, the rest of the radio is in excellent condition. When a 9v battery is inserted (not included) no stations tune in and no sound is heard. This Toshiba Mesh-Grill is being sold as non-working without warranty, parts only, 'as is'. Please study the images closely to determine your own opinion of the condition as this is much better than me trying to describe it in words.
