Up for sale is an Antique Floral Brass Dresser Box Made in India. Circa 1870s-1891.
Featuring a lovely brass dresser box with a gorgeous floral Art Nouveau style design etched into the brass all around the outside. The inside of the box is lined with a mahogany wood. There is no markings on the base which tells me that this box dates to earlier than 1891 as that is when the USA required the country of origin to be marked on all products/goods imported into the country.
There is some corrosion wear near and around the hinges on the back of the box. Otherwise the box is in good condition with light wear/discoloration from age. It still works and functions properly. Overall it still displays beautifully.
Measurements are approximately:
2 1/4" Tall.
6 1/4" x 3 3/8"
Inside Dimensions:
1 7/16" Deep.
5 7/8" x 2 7/8"
