Can be seen testing metal of 4.6mm in the last few pictures using 3 in 1 oil. Please note it won't measure without using a silicone based oil in-between the metal being tested & the gauge. You can purchase Portaguage gel or use 3in1 oil. (The oil & metal plate are not supplied, just for demonstration purposes).

Portagauge 3 is a very simple, reliable and well-made handheld ultrasonic single echo thickness gauge. Ideal for testing corrosion and identifying areas of weakness in metal through a pattern of readings. Effective for quick results and non-English speakers with clear ON-OFF buttons. Uses are widely varied e.g. ship plate, fire extinguishing cylinders, telecommunications.
