"The Romance of Modern Exploration, with descriptions of curious customs, thrilling adventures and interesting discoveries of explorers in all parts of the world. By Archibald Williams...with Twenty-Six Illustrations. London: Seeley, Service & Co. Limited, 38 Great Russell Street.  1913."

From its attractive, illustrated covers to its various photographs, this is a delightful antiquarian book. It covers much of the world's regions, a pre-WW1 volume written at a time when there was still much to be explored. From surveying in Central Asia, to a failed expedition by Balloon in the Arctic (the occupants never returned), there is much to enjoy here.

Please study my photographs of the contents pages to see exactly what areas are covered, and also some of the illustrations within the book.
This copy appears to be a Brighton & Hove prize binding, with their crest in gilt on the back cover.

Size: the covers measure approx. 20cms x 14cms. 384 pages.
Condition: The book has been very neatly rebound, retaining the original covers, spine and endpapers (I doubt if many people would realise it had been rebound!). Some fading to the covers, but still attractive. School crest in gilt on the back (prize binding?). Some foxing and marks within the text, but generally clean with no inscriptions. Complete with all photographs. A good copy. Please study my photographs.

Postage: £4.75 within the UK. £12.00 to Europe, £18.00 to USA etc.
