My Own Private River (2011/1991) [DVD]

Like new condition. Made it myself some years ago. It has a basic DVD menu for you to navigate. No subtitles. DVD-R, no region; region free / region 0 / worldwide playability. Watched it maybe twice since then - if I want a dose of My Own Private Idaho to hit different; more goodness, different perspectives, shots. I've embraced digital for ease of movement now, so selling this to anyone who wants a physical copy. You can write the title, or whatever, in your own handwriting!

Price takes into account the time it took to make it (not a whole lot of time), the energy (not a whole lot of energy in all fairness), care, the fact that there's no other MOPR on here, and because, heck, I name my price; I'm going to Uni soon and saving, saving to be smart about it, which really makes a change compared to who I used to be. It's also my lucky number - 7. By the time they've taken their three separate fees and I've posted it, trust me (if you're not a seller yourself), I make about half of that.

For anyone who doesn't know what My Own Private River is, it's essentially MOPI comprised of a collage of B-roll footage, stock footage, so you see more of the same, from a different perspective, raw scenes, outtakes, unedited, etc.

My Own Private River is a re-contextualized adventure drama film of My Own Private Idaho. Using footage shot and directed by Gus Van Sant in 1990, the new edit gives James Franco and Van Sant a shared director credit. The project is in tribute to Franco's favorite actor, River Phoenix.

My Own Private Idaho is considered a landmark film in New Queer Cinema, an early 1990s movement in queer-themed independent filmmaking. Since its release, it has grown in popularity and been deemed a cult classic, especially among LGBT audiences. The film is notable for its then-taboo subject matter and avant-garde style.
