Boston's first PCC car arrived in 1937, and the rest were built between then and 1951. A few are still in use today on the Ashmont-Mattapan line.

3022-3271 Ordered during WWII, delivered 1944-1946. Without the wings, mu as delivered. Exceptions were 3197-3221, which were the 25 all-electric standee window cars, 1946. Converted to mu, but remaining all-electric, around 1962. Before mu (multiple unit) conversion, used almost entirely on City Point - N. Station and City Point - Dudley.
