Martin boasts a history of over 100 years in ukulele production and has long influenced the development of American music culture.

Founded in 1833, Martin has been applying the same technology and experience gained in guitar production to the ukulele.

Martin began producing ukuleles in the late 1910's, and their high quality was highly acclaimed and they quickly spread throughout the world. The history of the ukulele is different from that of the Hawaiian ukulele culture and has been established by players from all over the world who love the Martin ukulele and its unique music.

This vintage tenor ukulele is circa 1960s!

After 1960, the fret specification was changed and 14-fret joint and 20-fret (total) specification became standard to accommodate a wider range of playing styles.

The demand for tenor size ukuleles began to increase around the 50's, and it is well known that legendary Hawaiian artist Izrael Kamakavivo'ole used a Martin tenor as his favorite instrument. (The Style-1T that Izrael loved to play was also a 14-fret version from the 1960s onward.)

In recent years, this Iz model has been released as 1T IZ Tenor and has gained popularity.

This instrument is an authentic ukulele from those days, which is also the base of the 1T IZ Tenor.

The head and neck are painted as original.

The head and neck paint seems to be original, but the entire body has been overcoated.

There is an opening in the center bookmatch on the front board, which has been repaired. (There is a patch reinforcement from the back side)

There are a few more scratches, but the condition is good in terms of playability, and the string height has been adjusted for easy playability. (about 2.2 mm above the 12th fret)

Overall, there are some weather checks (cracks in the paint surface due to age), but there are no crack repairs, and it can be used without any problems.

The quality of mahogany wood used in those days was good, and the grains were well formed and beautiful. The strong and original sound of the core, combined with the aging effect, is in excellent condition.

The tone that has been trained and honed over a hundred battles can only come from a matured Martin. It is the one and only!
