Frank V. Webster was a pseudonym used by the Stratemeyer Syndicate. A total of 25 novels in The Webster Series For Boys were published by Cupples & Leon between 1909 and 1915.
Effort was made to present Webster as if he was a real person. A 1911 advertisement stated: "We have made a distinct find in Mr. Frank V. Webster, who is under contract to write exclusively for us." Part of a 1921 newspaper advertisement read: "Mr. Webster’s style is much like that of the late lamented Horatio Alger, Jr., but his tales are all up-to-date. These are clean, clever boys’ stories."

CONDITION:
This hard-cover book is in very good condition. It has been rebound and recased in a new cream cloth cover with the old cloth from the book’s original spine and front board have been laid on. The book has new, clean, and acid free endpapers. The interior is all original. excellent with no names, marks, underlining, tears or odor. Page 75 has a ragged edge; page 195 is missing the upper corner (see pics). Otherwise the pages are mostly clean and without names, scribbled or tears. The paper is toned with age—about average for this book and not too brittle. The hinges and binding are excellent with no loose or missing pages.
