In Extremo (Latin:"at the edge" or "in the extreme") is a German folk metal band founded in 1995 in Berlin. The band's musical style combines metal with medieval traditional songs, blending the sound of the standard rock/metal instruments with historical instruments (such as the bagpipes, harp, hurdy-gurdy and shawm. 

Mein Rasend Herz is the fifth studio album by German folk-metal band In Extremo. While In Extremo started out by providing metal arrangements for traditional medieval songs (incorporating various traditional instruments like harp or bagpipes soon became their trademark), along the way they began to develop their own songwriting talents. Mein Rasend Herz, released in 2005, featured only four selections of their older material; the rest of the record consisted of original In Extremo compositions. The record rose to number three on the German album charts.
