The gold of the Incas!“

Today, a fruit is being advertised that has been revered and used by pre-Columbian cultures for thousands of years.

This was no different with the oldest, most influential culture in South America: the Chavin culture. Only Caral is older, but this culture had no such influences and design elements in the ceramics; this remains the mark of the Chavin culture to this day. The stirrup vessel shows a Lucuma fruit in impressive pottery work. It is known from Spanish traditions that this fruit had a healing and even divine character and was considered a symbol of fertility among fruits. The owner should also have this fruit and its benefits in his next life. The potter's work over 2000 years ago is very interesting: the stripe shape was created when he left parts smooth and parts are polished with later coloring. He particularly emphasized the curved curve at the ending of the fruit, which created a somewhat erotic impression. You hold the fruit (ceramic) in your hand and you inevitably have to trace and touch the curved shape with your other hand. No matter which angle you look at the ceramic from, it looks very balanced and harmonious, even in combination with the relatively large handle. The meaning of the fruit runs through the entire timeline from the Chavin to the Incas; the depictions can be found not only in ceramics, but also on textiles and even the walls of ancient buildings. Fruits in the form of ceramics were also very popular with the following Moche, and there were some ceramics to be found here.

A wonderful and very authentic representation of a highly revered fruit and a slightly different collector's item with a very high level of appeal. With this ceramic you appeal to a large fan base, which has already been shown in my collection, plus the Chavin ceramics, which are very sought after!

Culture: Chavin

Age: 2400 years old, TL tested, original Test Document 1987 inclusive, part of this auction!

Tall approx.: 9” inch

Condition: very good for this age, the top of the stirrup is reattached, dirt and scratches on the surface, discolorations with coloration flows (very nice)

Important for collectors who do not know my offers: it gives antiques, where you don't know, it is genuine or new (looks old or is a fake...). Many looks old, but it is? The best way to find out is an independent laboratory substance test. For many collectors is one reason, why they don't make a test, the high price. (In Europe are the cost today ca. 280 Euro / 290USD per test!) Here you get an antique piece inclusive a test (Thermo-Luminescence Analysis Report). For me as seller is this best feeling, because I can give you a really accurately described piece and the guarantee, made in antique times, an antique artisan, from an old long ago bygone culture!

Can anyone write a COA, a material laboratory test for determining the age is truly something special! I know the disappointing feeling when you realize that you bought a copy or a fake! To me pointless, because good counterfeits can no longer be distinguished from old pieces today!

Good luck bidding! I send only a parcel DHL with tracking info. I send directly after payment the next working day with full insurance of the buying value, it`s safety for you and me.
