Vintage AUSTIN COX Enterprises Mid-Century Modern Alcoa Aluminum CHESS SET MCM

DIMENSIONS/WEIGHT: 30 ¾” long x 6” tall x 2 ¼” deep. 5 ¾ lbs.

DESCRIPTION: Very cool 1962 vintage Austin Enterprises modernist chess set with the original fitted felt lined walnut case and original blue sliding plexiglass cover.

This was made to hang from a wall and serves as a functional wall art object.

I purchased this about twenty years ago from a high-end estate and displayed it in our home all these years, but we are remodeling the room and reluctantly decided that it was time to let it go. 

CONDITION: Very presentable overall. There is a small missing piece of the fitted case on the inside bottom left corner, but the chess piece that fits nearest there stays in place securely (see next to last photo). There are small holes drilled through the hanging slots, which was the way I found it, but it kept it securely on the wall all these years (see last photo). These imperfections are difficult to see under normal circumstances and a relatively easy fix if desired. No other notable condition issues.
