The world's first commercial wind turbine was built in the early 1940s on Grandpa's Knob near Rutland, Vermont.  This ground-breaking project proved that commercial electric power could be generated from the wind. In 1996, the first commercial wind farm east of the Mississippi was established in Sarsburg, Vermont, seen here in the background.

This program examines the issues and innovations surrounding the future of wind energy in Vermont!
