Donna Anna tries in every way to convince herself that her only son is alive and one day she will return. Seven years ago, he left for studies. Then, he met a woman with whom they fell madly in love, but she was forced to marry another man. Now, years later, they are reunited for a while, but he tries to persuade her not to leave her husband and her two children. Thanks to a half-finished letter, Lucia Mobel arrives at the house of her beloved ten days after his death. There, he is greeted by his mother, who despite the efforts of her sister Fiorina and Don Giorgio to prevent her, she lies to the young woman, that her son has left for a trip. Lucia informs her that she is pregnant with his child, the fruit of their love since the last time the two of them met. When the girl's mother arrives the next morning, she demands to be picked up and returned. Then the truth is revealed. Lucia and the mother of the unfortunate young man mourn his death. The second, realizes for the first time what is really happening, and despite her initial will, now convinces the girl to return to her family.....
