The Battleship Bismarck was a German battleship famous throughout the Second World War. The ship started construction in 1936 and entered service in August 1940. With a full load displacement of more than 50,000 tons, it was the largest battleship in the world at that time.

The Bismarck was the symbol of the Nazi German navy at that time. The ship was well-armed and well-protected, and was nicknamed the "unsinkable sea fortress." However, it was sunk after performing its first combat mission.

In the Battle of Denmark Strait, the Bismarck sank the battlecruiser HMS Hood, known as the pride of the Royal Navy, less than ten minutes after the battle began. However, a torpedo launched by a Swordfish torpedo bomber taking off from the aircraft carrier Ark Royal later hit the Bismarck, causing the Bismarck's tail rudder to become stuck and unable to control the normal navigation direction. The next morning, the Bismarck was finally surrounded by the British fleet. After nearly two hours of continuous fierce attack, the Bismarck finally sank in the Atlantic Ocean.
