1992 Ron Stout Frame and Fork FS

One of the unsung great names in American frame building. Reported to have made only about 500 frames in total, from the 1970’s-1992.

This is frame 461, made in this last year of production.

The model is not marked, but appears to be a ‘Custom Touring’, with the addition of a custom paint and internal brake routing. It measures 48.5 on the seat tube, which was the smallest frame he made for 700c wheels, and 53 on the top tube, center to center. The rear spacing is 135. I measured twice. There is about 4cm at the brake bridge, so wide tires should work well.

Comes with a Campagnolo Mirage bottom bracket and Mavic headset, and both feel to be in great shape.

The usual nicks and scratches from a 30 year old touring bike, but no dents, bends or structural rust, just the usual surface corrosion in some nicks. Ready to build and ride
