NEW Ukraine coins UAH
On July 29, the National Bank puts into circulation the commemorative coin "Chernobyl. Renaissance. Brown bear". It continues the series "Flora and Fauna of Ukraine".
🐻 The coin is dedicated to the revival of wildlife on the territory of the Chernobyl reserve, in particular the brown bear.
👉 Five interesting facts about this coin have been prepared for you:
1⃣ Paradoxically, man-made catastrophe gave nature a unique chance for revival, which she took full advantage of. The Chernobyl radiation-ecological biosphere reserve has become a kind of reserve for breeding many animals and birds - black stork, Przewalski's horse, lynx, bison, moose, brown bear;
2⃣ The brown bear of the last decade returned to the territory of the reserve - after a hundred years of absence. Now from time to time it is recorded by camera traps of the reserve. An image from one of these pictures now adorns our coin;
3⃣ this coin is the 52nd in the "Flora and Fauna of Ukraine" series and the second in the series of "Chernobyl" coins. Renaissance";
4⃣ series of coins "Chernobyl. "Revival" will contain six coins, all of them dedicated to animals and birds that have now settled on the territory of Chernobyl;
5⃣ The author of the sketches of the coin was Kyiv artist Natalya Fandikova. It was she who developed the design for the whole series of "Chernobyl" coins. Renaissance". She also created designs for more than 50 Ukrainian commemorative coins.
❓ What does a commemorative coin look like?
The obverse of the coin depicts the symbolic wheel of life, which marks the rebirth of nature: the stylized international sign "Radiation Threat", around which are animals whose populations develop in the 30-kilometer exclusion zone.
On the reverse, there is a brown bear on the background of a landscape (tampo printing is used - color printing).
🟡 The coin is made of nickel silver, with a denomination of 5 hryvnias.
Its circulation is 40,000 pieces (including 20,000 pieces in souvenir packaging).
