Chestnut henryi is a medium-sized tree that is planted for wildlife habitat, for nut and wood production, and as an ornamental. Turkeys, squirrels, possums, deer, and other animals eat the nuts. The rounded shape and dense canopy provide lots of shade. It grows in full sun or partial shade, and does well in moist or dry soils.
