MADE A BREEZE AS THEY SIMPLY SCREW INTO THE ORIGINAL FACTORY HOLE IN THE DOOR. INSTALLED THEY ARE IDENTICAL TO THE OTHER ORIGINAL KNOBS YOU MIGHT STILL HAVE ON THE CASES IF THEY ARE A MATCH. HOWEVER, THERE WERE 10 DIFFERENT KNOB SUPPLIERS THROUGH THE YEARS FROM DIFFERENT VENDORS, SO CHECK YOUR OTHER KNOBS TO SEE IF THEY MATCH ON THE ONES YOUR OTHER CASES. WE CAN TRADE OTHER STYLES OF YOUR OTHER ORIGINAL KNOBS TO GIVE YOU A MATCHED SET IF YOU SO DESIRE.

FOR SALE: 1 (ONE) ORIGINAL, 120+ YEAR OLD, production knob from the actual Macey Globe Wernicke® Corporation. THESE KNOBS ARE EXACTING FACTORY ORIGINALS. THEY ARE UNTOUCHED, UNUSED, NEW OLD STOCK, WITH A NATURALLY AGED BRONZE PATINA. THEY ARE UNCLEANED, WITHOUT PAINT OR ANY DEFECTS. TAKEN OUT OF AN ORIGINAL DETERIORATING MACEY GLOBE WERNICKE® PRODUCTION CRATE. THEY WERE ALSO USED ON: GUNN/LUNDSTRUM/WEIS/HOOSIERS AND OTHER UNITS AS WELL. THESE ARE A COMPLICATED KNOB THAT IS STAMPED/PRESS ASSEMBLED FROM DIFFERENT BRASS PARTS. THEY WILL NEVER BE DUPLICATED GIVEN THE COST OF RE-TOOLING UP FOR PRODUCTION (SEE FIRST 3 PHOTOS). Each door knob may have aged differently and will be unique unto itself. HOWEVER they are actually pretty uniform in aged finish being DRY stored together for the last 120+ years. The buyer will have to decide how to clean or leave "as is" the knob. They need no cleaning, of any kind, in my opinion. That’s what makes them priceless to us as restorers. We will not touch the finish on the knob. The original slim steel mounting post is factory embedded/attached from the assembly process. The knobs we are offering are the most common style that was used from 1890 to 1900 in Wernicke® and Globe Wernicke® production but can be found as late as 1920 on other applications. They measure 5/8" NOT 11/16" Diameter across the Top, by 3/8" Height projection, by 5/16" across the Bottom of the base (see the 3rd picture). You can remove the aged finish and age the knob with darkening solution for a different match if you like (GOD FORBID). We won't attempt to age these further on request. All other knobs we will. Given the stamped hollow nature of the knob, the aging solution would be trapped inside, and over time cause problems leaching out. THERE ARE A LIMITED NUMBER OF THESE ORIGINAL KNOBS AVAILABLE AS WOULD BE EXPECTED. ONCE THEY ARE GONE THEY ARE GONE FOR GOOD! We also have other original knobs that may be different than what we have listed here to match to if you send a sample of your knobs. We can match exactly to your knob if a sample of your knob is sent first or we will just provide the knob used in 90% of the cases. We have 1000+ stack units in our inventory and library and these come from our own original knobs on our Globe Wernicke® Macey units. Those are available for the same price (in most cases). If you are trying to match and complete that one or 2 section, in that otherwise complete original stack, then this is the place to get them.Finally, here at Globe Wernicke® Macey we have several other re-released knob listings as well for the Globe Wernicke® cases to cover all possible restoration needs. These are less costly, new production, re-releases of essentially of other antique original knobs. The re-released knobs in our other ads listed on eBay are 99% close in dimensions to these Antique originals. The quality of material is equivalent/superior to our original 1900 releases. See those ads for other alternative accurate factory knobs. We also have the correct knobs for the ogee bases with the drawers available on our other eBay listings.
