The Ute Mountain Indian Pottery factory is located in Colorado just west of the Mesa Verde National Park.

These lands were once were the home of the ancient Anasazi people who mysteriously vashished serveral centuries ago.

The Utes, who now live there, were nomadic people until the 1800's.

Their unique paintings often contain elements of the Anaszi pottery designs. However, over the years the Utes have adapted these designs and included their own interpretations of this diverse geographic land.

To encourage the talents of the tribal artists, the tribe formed the Ute Mountain Indian Pottery enterprise in 1973.
