Thank you Gil for saving me that chaotic day and rescuing all the vintage clothing you saved as well as me. I will always thank Gil for every piece I list. This two piece was also in the box with the ball gown and 1890s wedding. This piece is in better shape. I am now wondering if these garments were in a "to be repaired" box? One piece found inside the box is a drop sleeve 1829 "canary yellow and red" Ditzy print ball gown, now THAT is in glorious condition. That will be listed at a later time. This two piece is constructed out of wool and cotton blend, lace applique trim and lined with, an unusual combination of these two colors, medium blue cotton. The two tabs and waistline tan closures have this same blue fabric. Inside bodice lined in Brown cotton. Outer dress is a wool and cotton blend, very nice fine fabric. The outside color is sort of brown/green, more of a nice brown color. Pigeon Breasted bodices were a very fashionable look during the early 1900s period. Skirts were long and straight in front and had a "fluted" appearance at the hem, many ruffles and trims. Women who did not have funds for fancy trims, ribbon, or Garniture's would trim the bodices and leave the skirts simple. This garment has medium blue thread stitching. Nice contrast. Simple cotton applique trims along the two front tabs pieces with a pale cream silk bow at the center. Bodice boned and lined in blue cotton. One piece along the left front attaches to the outer bodice with hooks and thread loops. Yoke and collar show wear. Collar needs resewn, but, the silk has deteriorated. Simple stiffening fabric can be used to stabilize the collar so that it could still be used. Long drop "Pouch" sleeves with applique trims at the cuffs. Side hook and eye closure. Two waistband tabs close across the front, these need hook and eyes added. Skirt is simple and plain. Lined in blue cotton. Has two fabric panels at hemline. Hook and eye closure. Two hooks on Outer waistband that attach to the back bodice. By hooking two pieces together this allows support and keeps the bodice from moving around while secured to the skirt. Back of skirt has inverted pleats. Skirt has two loops at inside waistband to hang on a hook. Bodice has a few area's,  see photo, of tiny mith holes. Very clean two puece ensemble. Bodice: bust 34, waist 24, length 17, shoulders 13, sleeves 23. Skirt: waist 25, hips well over 40, length front 41, length back demi-train 43. Very nice weight gown and very tailored. No Petersham, no label or maker. As-Is sale. All sales final. NO INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING. Thank you.
