Actually made from from urea formaldehyde in the 1930s by British firm NB Wares

Two holes at the top so the ball could be hung by a ribbon and a single hole at the bottom for the Wool.  It comes apart easily but there is a knack , you need a light touch ,with gentle pressure as you turn it

Very attractive colourway orange brown with green flecks .
