IF SHIPPING IS RIDICULOUS CONTACT ME FIRST>>>>THE EBAY CALCULATOR IS USUALLY WAY OFF>>.....I know i wasn't the first to rediscover these horns but i would guess at 20 of them i've probably had more than anyone....they're really a sleeper....and VERY worthy.........Brasshistory.net has a nice page on him.......Karl Allmendinger was the Bronx factory foreman for bach....these horns are made from NY Bach valve sets with different bells/leadpipes....it's funny but i don't think i've seen 2 that are the same....share the NY Bach dimensions which are different than later Mt Vernons.....the width between the leadpipe and the bells are narrower than later.....also tuning slide is a bit narrower too....and in fact i know that the MK Drawing NY Bach slides do fit perfectly with these...if you want to experiment......medium .453 bore.....would be great for an older player, you don't have to work as hard to get a great sound with this bore size....it's actually got a bad rap....this horn is different than the A1 model in a few small respects.....has normal bell to leadpipe braces instead of 3 piece.....and there is no cut in on the lower tuning slide outer tube like a french besson.....otherwise is the pro level....nickel outer tubing......horn has a great rich round sound, lots of overtones....plays very even through all registers, no pinchiness in the upper register....very versatile and will fit in most situations......valves have little or no play in them, very tight....slides all work good, has a 3rd dump slide....a few pings here and there, no major damage present...there was a small push in the bell by the brace at the mouthpiece receiver....it's 95% ok....if you decided to refinish it later maybe you might want to have that done....lacquer is in ok shape, good enough not to remove....i will come up with some 3rd rod nuts, can't remember if bach fits these ...maybe have to be some conns.....i'll provide a case for transport.....if you don't need it shipping will be less....it's had a chem and ultrasonic cleaning, new felts/corks......
